About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join their team at a school in Hook. The successful candidate will provide essential support, compassion, and empowerment to individuals with mental health challenges, fostering an inclusive and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with students on a one-on-one basis, providing tailored support to meet their unique mental health needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to implement strategies that promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Be a calming presence during challenging situations, offering immediate support and helping students navigate difficult emotions.
  • Maintain open communication with parents, providing updates on students' progress and collaborating on strategies for continued support at home.
  • Work in classrooms supporting Teachers and fellow Teaching Assistants.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children in a mental health or educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Compassion and empathy for the well-being of children.
  • Experience working with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
