Key Responsibilities:

The Portfolio Analysis Group (PAG) role entails providing both portfolio and market investment analysis for the European High Yield desk, collaborating with various internal stakeholders and clients. PAG Analysts are responsible for delivering advanced Quantitative Investment Analytics and working closely with portfolio managers, risk managers, traders, credit researchers, client service representatives, and the sales and marketing teams to:

  • Conduct performance attribution and analytics.
  • Monitor portfolio alignment and risk exposures.
  • Gather and analyze market data.
  • Model portfolios and create custom benchmarks, adhering to the specific constraints of the portfolios managed.

Successfully managing multiple, often competing, ad hoc requests and projects related to market or portfolio analytics from different sectors of the Fixed Income organization is crucial.

  • Proactively assess and monitor portfolio positioning concerning currency and credit risk exposures, providing insights for construction and alignment.
  • Incorporate specific client guidelines, objectives, and risk tolerances into the investment process to ensure comprehensive portfolio management and analytics.
  • Stay informed on developments, perspectives, and trends within the fixed income market and their implications for portfolio positioning and performance.
  • Uphold the Portfolio Analysis Group's reputation as a premier provider of investment analytics and execute against the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with peers across mandates to ensure consistent and efficient application of analytics processes and methodologies.
  • Analyze and communicate monthly and quarterly performance attribution findings effectively.
  • Coordinate with various teams to ensure that the Portfolio Analysis Group, Portfolio Management teams, and Risk Management Group have the necessary tools and technology for effective portfolio management.
  • Evaluate and compare various benchmarks, assessing their risk and positioning profiles to determine appropriate benchmarking for specific mandates or clients.
  • Remain updated on relevant technology related to portfolio analytics, attribution methodologies, modeling techniques, and risk management tools.
  • Construct model portfolios based on client or prospect guidelines and analyze the impact of cash flows on existing portfolios.
  • Engage in ad hoc project work as required.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in Fixed Income Investments with a strong interest in Fixed Income Analytics.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • CFA designation or other relevant master's level qualifications such as Statistics or Quantitative Finance are advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, highly interactive environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong technological proficiency, particularly with Excel, Python, and SQL.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • A willingness to embrace and promote change and development.
  • Strong analytical and logical reasoning abilities.

What Will Differentiate You:

  • Experience with Aladdin is a plus.
  • Demonstrated quantitative skills, particularly in data analysis projects.
