Position Overview

The primary objective of this position is to:

Facilitate the effective operation of the Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) service across designated regions,

Assist Team Managers in managing the operational schedule and contribute to planning for weekends and public holidays,

Act as a substitute for Team Managers during their leave or absence,

Engage in covering operational shifts to maintain a stable staffing situation.

As a member of the Service Delivery Team, you will play a crucial role in steering our service alongside the broader Operational Team. It is essential that the individual in this role upholds our code of conduct at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

Assist Team Managers in delivering operational oversight, supervision, and quality assurance to uphold high standards of patient care throughout the service.

Team and Operational Management

Serve as a deputy for Team Managers to support their team members during periods of leave and absence,

Ensure compliance with relevant organizational policies, including Health and Safety, Information Governance, and Care Quality Commission standards,

Act as a deputy for Team Managers to oversee the treatment center during their absence,

Schedule Management

Aid Team Managers in filling the operational schedule as part of their Rota Person of the Week duties and assist with planning for weekends and public holidays, Support the development of contingency plans for unforeseen absences that may affect shift coverage.

Communication and Teamwork

Promote open and effective communication within the team and across various departments, Encourage a collaborative work environment, fostering teamwork and a shared sense of purpose,

Training and Development

Assist Team Managers in the onboarding, training, and development of operational staff,

Help identify the training needs of staff and support Team Managers in organizing suitable training and development opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

Patient Care

Support Team Managers in providing operational management, supervision, and quality assurance to ensure high standards of patient care are upheld across the service, Contribute to or work towards participating in the shift manager schedule regularly, managing shifts in line with key performance indicators and service standards, including both fixed shifts and responding proactively to service needs for planned and unplanned vacancies.

Team and Operational Management

Act as a deputy for Team Managers to assist their team members during periods of leave and absence,

Ensure adherence to relevant organizational policies, including Health and Safety, Information Governance, and Care Quality Commission standards,

Serve as a deputy for Team Managers to oversee the treatment center during their absence,

Foster a positive working environment for clinical and operational staff, monitoring staff experience and taking necessary actions to enhance staff satisfaction,

Lead by example, enabling the team to adapt to changing situations as required,

Schedule Management

Assist Team Managers in filling the operational schedule as part of their Rota Person of the Week duties and support planning for weekends and public holidays, Aid in developing contingency plans for unexpected absences that may impact shift coverage, Ensure that schedule management is conducted efficiently and resourcefully, Attend designated leadership team meetings at BrisDoc headquarters.

Communication and Teamwork

Facilitate open and effective communication within the team and across departments, Foster a collaborative working environment, promoting teamwork and a shared sense of purpose, Build and maintain strong internal relationships, valuing and leveraging the strengths of each team member, Assist in implementing effective internal staff communications to keep team members informed about service performance and delivery, as well as broader organizational news and developments, Ensure that staff contributions to the service are recognized and appreciated.

Training and Development

Support Team Managers in the onboarding, training, and development of operational staff,

Help identify the training needs of staff and assist Team Managers in planning appropriate training and development initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

Proven experience in leading teams to achieve defined objectives, Experience in a professional environment that demands high standards of customer service, A solid educational background, including GCSE equivalent qualifications in English and Maths, Ability to use initiative and resolve issues promptly, A minimum of six months experience within BrisDoc Healthcare Services, Organized and systematic, capable of managing systems and processes in accordance with organizational policies and procedures, Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow instructions as needed, establishing rapport and credibility with team members.

Desirable

Experience in the healthcare or NHS sector, Experience in managing personnel and processes, Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
