This role will be based in our Bristol Office, and we are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join our M&E Engineering division. The ideal candidate will possess a background in Engineering or Construction, although we welcome strong applicants from other sectors with at least 12 months of relevant experience in a Health and Safety capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a positive SHEQ culture throughout the organization.
  • Deliver comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental guidance to all staff and management.
  • Establish and nurture client relationships.
  • Monitor and evaluate Health, Safety, and Environmental performance, continuously striving for improvements in SHEQ standards.
  • Conduct and oversee a series of audits and inspections to assess Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental performance.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring root causes are identified and recommendations are implemented to prevent recurrence.
  • Promote best practices and lessons learned through ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Review Health and Safety plans, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Assist the organization in fulfilling its statutory obligations regarding Environmental Management, Health, Safety, and workplace welfare.
  • Support the existing SHEQ Management system by drafting and reviewing procedures, policies, templates, and toolbox talks.
  • Facilitate safety briefings, toolbox talks, and safety-first meetings.
  • Assist the Managing Director(s) with all matters related to Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental management.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of ISO management systems.
  • Engage with other organizations and relevant authorities as needed.
  • Assess fire risks in various workplaces.
  • Stay informed about changes in relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.

  • Experience in conducting site inspections and identifying appropriate corrective actions.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Health & Safety role.
  • Experience in the Engineering or Construction industry is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 audits is desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Qualifications:

  • IOSH or NEBOSH General Certificate (Required).
  • ISO qualification is desirable.

Salary is negotiable based on the candidate's experience and training.
