Independent Advocate Position

Are you driven by a desire to create positive change in the lives of others? Do you excel in a vibrant and fast-evolving workplace? We are on the lookout for a committed and proactive Independent Advocate to become part of our dynamic team.

In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting vulnerable individuals who are navigating complex health and social care challenges. Your responsibilities will include crafting compelling verbal and written representations on behalf of clients, engaging with both public and voluntary organizations, and taking decisive actions to resolve client concerns. This position requires adaptability, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.

Work Schedule:

  • Full Time, 37 hours per week,
  • Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM.

Work Location: Primarily remote with necessary travel across the designated area. Occasional travel outside the main region may be required, with travel expenses reimbursed, including mileage. A full UK driving license is advantageous but not mandatory.

This position necessitates flexibility and travel within standard working hours to meet service demands.

Travel Reimbursement: We cover travel expenses for work-related activities. For those residing in the designated area, expenses are reimbursed from home. For individuals living outside the area, reimbursement begins from an agreed-upon border point.

Qualifications for Independent Advocate:

  • Excellent communication and time management skills to effectively work remotely.
  • Proficient IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, and the ability to adapt to client management software.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and reporting within tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in advocacy, information and advice, or a related role in health, social care, or the voluntary sector.
  • Proven experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Understanding of public and voluntary organizations.
