Position Overview

Connex Education Solutions is collaborating with a remarkable community educational institution that is seeking dedicated support personnel to assist students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEND TA), your role will involve working closely with educators to provide tailored support to students in both small groups and on an individual basis. This includes clarifying concepts, facilitating engaging learning activities, and promoting the educational growth of each student. Key responsibilities will also encompass managing behavioral challenges, assisting with examination arrangements, and preparing essential classroom resources.

Candidate Profile

We invite applications from enthusiastic Teaching Assistants at all experience levels, whether you are beginning your career or are an experienced professional seeking new opportunities.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A patient, nurturing, and motivating demeanor
  • The ability to quickly establish rapport with students
  • Strong literacy and numeracy capabilities
  • Confidence in managing classroom administrative responsibilities
  • Experience in addressing challenging behaviors and supporting students with SEND, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Communication Challenges

We also welcome applicants with backgrounds as Health Care Assistants and Support Workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1-1 or small group support to students
  • Prepare educational materials tailored to student needs
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning requirements
  • Support the physical, social, and emotional well-being of children
