Teach Now: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Waltham Forest, East London.

About the Role

This is a long-term position starting immediately and running until the end of the academic year. As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the teaching staff to provide support to pupils with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with pupils to develop their skills and confidence
  • Support teachers in planning and delivering lessons
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to pupils
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • DBS clearance or willingness to undergo a DBS check
