About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Medical Secretary to join our team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support to our Renal, Clinical Immunology & Allergy teams, ensuring the smooth operation of our services.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for patients, GPs, and other departments, providing excellent customer service and dealing with enquiries effectively.
- Liaise with colleagues to ensure patients are seen on their pathway without delay, and coordinate appointments and clinical information.
- Ensure accurate and timely transcription of clinical letters and correspondence using digital dictation software.
- Attend meetings, take minutes, and use your initiative to prioritize tasks and requests within defined guidelines.
- Adapt to the needs of the service, working flexibly to meet the requirements of our specialist teams.

Requirements
- GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to use your own initiative.
- Previous experience working in a busy administrative environment.
