Position Overview

We are seeking a Qualified Social Worker specializing in Family & Children Safeguarding and Family Support Services. The ideal candidate will be registered with the HCPC and will play a pivotal role in leading complex assessments and providing necessary evidence in legal proceedings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exercise high-quality judgment in increasingly complex and challenging situations within Children's Services, demonstrating confidence and autonomy.
  • Possess expertise in specific areas of practice and maintain connections with local and national resource networks.
Assessment and Intervention

Utilize appropriate assessment frameworks and apply information-gathering skills to contribute to comprehensive assessments while fostering relationships and support for children and families.

Select and review timely social work interventions based on evidence of effectiveness, ensuring they are tailored to the needs of service users, families, and caregivers.

Judgment and Evaluation
  • Demonstrate effective judgment regarding risk and accountability in decision-making processes.
  • Regularly evaluate the quality and impact of personal and team practices, adhering to the Code of Ethics and regulatory standards.
  • Implement contingency planning to address complexities and evolving circumstances.
Collaboration and Support
  • Foster constructive relationships with children, young people, families, and partner organizations.
  • Engage with children, families, and communities to facilitate informed decision-making and clarify their needs in service planning.
  • Collaborate with various statutory, independent, and voluntary services to develop and achieve care plan objectives.
Professional Development

Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional and personal development as outlined by the HCPC.

  • Adhere to the BASW Professional Capabilities Framework for Social Work in England.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant training and experience in safeguarding children.
  • Comprehensive understanding of key legislation regarding children's welfare and safeguarding.
  • Application of the Code of Ethics and relevant regulatory standards in practice.

Develop expertise in specific fields of practice and enhance knowledge and skills relevant to the context, ensuring familiarity with local and broader resource networks.
