About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mass Properties Specialist to join our team at Synergize Consulting. As a Mass Properties Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of mass property data for equipment and systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collate and analyze mass property data for equipment and systems to deliver weight and centroid control on complex projects.
  • Support the Mass Properties Lead in aggregating weight and centroid reports and presenting the status to senior leaders.
  • Collaborate with system design engineers to estimate mass, centroid, and design maturity of multiple mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of parts mass properties.
  • Provide input to and lead weight-saving strategies and maintain the list of weight risk and opportunities for each discipline area.
  • Interrogate CAD models to determine estimates for mass properties with associated uncertainties.
  • Utilize statistical analysis to provide a whole-system picture of weight risk and opportunity to senior leaders, stakeholders, and customers.


Requirements:

  • Mass Properties or Weights engineering experience is essential.
  • Electrical design background would be a distinct advantage.
  • Strong background in Mechanical Design.
  • Working in a safety-critical environment (Aerospace/Nuclear, etc.).
  • Qualified in a STEM subject (Ideally Mechanical Engineering).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
