About the Role

The Deputy Director of Safeguarding and Child Protection will play a key leadership role in the operational management of the Trust's safeguarding service, working closely with the Director and Associate Director for Safeguarding to deliver the Trust's safeguarding strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Trust's safeguarding strategy, ensuring compliance with national and local guidelines and best practice.
  • Provide expert guidance and advice on complex safeguarding cases, working with trust staff and safeguarding service colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Co-lead the development of all-age safeguarding training and supervision for staff across the organisation, ensuring provision and content meets the needs of staff groups within the Trust.
  • Directly supervise and manage the safeguarding practice of Social Workers employed in the Children and Young People Gender Service Southwest (CYP GS (SW)), ensuring they have regular and effective safeguarding supervision for their caseload.
  • Work in partnership with the Deputy Director of Safeguarding (All Age) to deliver the Trust's safeguarding adults and children's strategic and operational objectives, working across the whole Trust.
