Job Details

Network Open is seeking an experienced Optical Assistant to join their team in Cambridge and surrounding areas. This is a Monday to Friday role, with no weekends required. As an Optical Assistant, you will be supporting the optometrist and carrying out a full dispense visiting patients in Care Homes and patients own homes. You will be expected to cover a radius up to 50 miles from your home post code. A confident driver with a full driving licence for at least 2 years is essential.

About the Role

As an Optical Assistant, you will be working closely with the optometrist to provide high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for carrying out eye tests, dispensing glasses and contact lenses, and providing aftercare services. You will also be required to work independently at times, visiting patients in their own homes and care homes. A sympathetic approach and empathy are essential for this role, as many patients are elderly and may be unwell.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as an Optical Assistant
• Full driving licence for at least 2 years
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
