Biomedical Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our Immunology Laboratory team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic services in immunology, working closely with our clinical teams to provide accurate and timely results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a range of immunological tests, including autoimmunity, allergy, and immunodeficiency assays, using state-of-the-art equipment and techniques.
- Collaborate with our clinical teams to provide expert advice and support in the interpretation of test results.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Participate in quality control and assurance activities to ensure the highest standards of laboratory practice.
- Provide training and supervision to junior staff members.
- State registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- MSc or equivalent academic achievement ratified by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS).
- Post-registration specialty training in accordance with IBMS guidelines.
- Experience in a busy immunology laboratory, with a strong understanding of laboratory quality management systems and relevant regulatory body accreditation standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
