About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Great Bear. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of our warehouse operations and site facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide strong leadership and management to the operational team, ensuring that they are equipped to meet the demands of the role.
  • Operational Performance: Maximize site operational performance by providing a strong ethos of leadership and colleague engagement, closely managing customer requirements, and ensuring that challenging KPIs are consistently achieved.
  • Health and Safety: Assume responsibility for ensuring that Health & Safety is 'No1 on the agenda' aligned with the overall site and business goals and guidelines.
  • Team Development: Develop and lead a culture of continuous improvement with the development of new and innovative ways of working in order to enhance operational performance and people development.
  • Financial Management: Closely manage financial targets to ensure the attainment of improved financial performance through effective cost management.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage effectively with the customer in a full Partnership model approach.
  • Site Facilities: Managing and maintaining site facilities and visiting contractors.
  • Recruitment and Selection: Timely recruiting and selecting agency and permanent operatives.
  • Compliance: Managing the process for ensuring compliance on key internal and external audits.
Requirements
  • Experience: A demonstrable track record in managing high volume, high service driven warehouse operations.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to think and work both strategically and operationally, with a successful builder and leader of large and diverse teams.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to converse at all levels.
  • Knowledge and Experience: Previous knowledge and experience or a retail type environment would be an advantage.
  • Qualifications: A positive can do outlook with the determination and tenacity to succeed.
