Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations Manager to join our team at Great Bear. As an Operations Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse, managing schedules, and coordinating with warehouse operatives, Shift Supervisors, and Shift Managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Outbound Schedules: Efficiently manage the outbound schedule to ensure timely collection and delivery of goods.
  • Coordinate Warehouse Operations: Issue instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.
  • Control Paperwork: Ensure 100% accuracy in controlling paperwork for outbound vehicles.
  • Communicate with Drivers: Be the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.
  • Issue Reminders: Communicate issues to Shift Manager in a timely manner to minimize disruption to the schedule.
  • Participate in Operations Team: Participate as an active member of the operations team, offering suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer, and quality focus.
  • Maintain Communication: Maintain good communication with transport providers to avoid late collections and delivery failures.
  • Handover to Next Shift: Produce a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift highlighting potential issues, reminders, and current state of play.
Requirements
  • Prioritization: Ability to prioritize work based on scheduling and available resources.
  • Attention to Detail: Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
  • Team Player: Must be a team player who is capable of working on their own initiative.
  • System Knowledge: Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of on-site systems.
  • Deadlines: Able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Autostore and RF Kit: Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.
  • Computer Literacy: PC Literate in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Desire to Progress: Should demonstrate the drive and desire to progress.
  • Flexibility: Must be flexible in approach to work and shift patterns in order to cover for absence.
  • Customer Service: Be able to demonstrate a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and third-party hauliers.
  • Communication Skills: Should have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent time management skills and ability to solve problems.
