We are excited to collaborate with a Local Authority in the South West region, seeking to fill the role of Principal Accountant within the Capital division on an interim basis.

This position offers a full-time commitment with highly flexible hybrid working arrangements and a competitive daily rate based on experience.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Capital Accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitating transitions associated with the implementation of a new financial system
  • Overseeing essential capital functions during the system transition
  • Assisting in the preparation of medium-term and annual budgets, and monitoring financial performance
  • Managing a portfolio of capital initiatives, providing strategic guidance to team members
  • Directly supervising one team member
  • Offering expert capital finance advice, including financial modeling and analysis of profit and loss

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience in Capital Accounting is mandatory
  • Experience within the Local Government or Public Sector is preferred
