Quality Control Inspector (Welding and Fabrication)

We are a center of excellence for various maritime projects, including Ministry of Defence vessels, ferries, and a range of marine operations, handling substantial volumes of product annually.

Key Responsibilities
As a Quality Control Inspector within our Quality Team, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our operations adhere to stringent quality control standards in welding and fabrication. Your tasks will include:

  • Conducting inspections, monitoring, and verifying the work performed by A&P and our subcontractors.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Integrated Management System and evaluating yard facilities and ongoing work.
  • Assisting in the upkeep of the Company’s Welding and Fabrication Quality Management System documentation.
  • Collaborating closely with the Fabrication Department Manager, Project Managers, and site contractors.
  • Developing and refining processes to maintain quality control across all welding and fabrication activities.
  • Performing non-destructive testing methods, including magnetic particle and liquid penetrant testing.
  • Supporting the investigation and resolution of non-conformances and customer feedback, while defining preventive measures.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • CSWIP Welding Inspector certification or equivalent experience in fabrication inspection.
  • PCN certification in non-destructive testing (MPI, LPI) is preferred, though training may be provided.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain precise documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to quality management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to work effectively across various teams.
