Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Inspector to join our team at A&P Falmouth. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that our company meets and complies with all quality control aspects of welding and fabrication in accordance with customer and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections, patrols, and verifications of work being carried out by A&P and our contractors, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Support the maintenance of our Welding and Fabrication Quality Management System procedures, manuals, and associated booklets/forms.
  • Collaborate closely with the Fabrication Department Manager, Project/Ship Managers, and site-based contractors to ensure seamless quality control processes.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure the quality control of all welding and fabrication operations within the facility.
  • Perform non-destructive testing (magnetic particle and liquid penetrant) to ensure the quality of our work.
  • Assist in the investigation and rectification of non-conformances, customer complaints, and the definition of preventative actions.

Requirements

  • You will ideally be a CSWIP Welding Inspector or equivalent, with experience in fabrication inspection.
  • Ideal candidates will hold PCN certification in non-destructive testing (MPI, LPI), although training can be provided if needed.
  • You will need strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in documentation.
  • You will have excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to quality issues.
  • You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
