Position Overview

Job Title: Lead Aerospace Systems Engineer

Location: Flexible working arrangements available.

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate and distribute engineering documentation for Flight Systems to fulfill project specifications while adhering to established standards and procedures, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to devise innovative engineering solutions.
  • Engage in various engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, system design, modeling, integration, certification, and testing.
  • Draft technical specifications, reports, and proposals.
  • Mentor and support team members by sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Guide the development of new systems by implementing effective systems lifecycle methodologies.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant STEM field (e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics).
  • Proven understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and the ability to apply sound engineering principles in practice.
  • Experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Fluid Systems Engineering, ideally within the aerospace sector or a related engineering field (e.g., Nuclear, Rail, Automotive, Academia).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn specialized software tools as required.
  • Capability to leverage past experiences to provide guidance and support to colleagues.
  • Strong research skills to analyze system design data and solve complex engineering challenges.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of electrical power systems, thermal management, flight controls, hydraulics, landing gear, fuel systems, crew support systems, propulsion integration, or systems health management.
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering methodologies and tools.
  • Experience in designing and supporting Flight Systems products within an engineering context.
  • Background in managing products through the entire systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Experience with system modeling and simulation software.
