About the Role
GKN Aerospace is a leading global supplier of aerospace systems and components, and we're seeking a highly skilled Reliability Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and availability of our complex machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the reliability management program, continually reviewing equipment data to identify opportunities to improve technical strategy
- Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve equipment failures
- Participate in capital projects to ensure reliability and availability are specifically addressed
- Lead partnerships with engineering, maintenance, and manufacturing teams to facilitate cross-functional problem-solving
- Monitor failures to identify root causes and implement appropriate actions
- Organize and lead criticality assessment and risk-based maintenance analysis teams
- Identify design-out opportunities and implement cost-justifiable actions
- Initiate and implement changes to preventive maintenance programs as needed
Requirements
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Higher national certificate or ONC in electrical or mechanical engineering, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in an engineering environment, preferably in machine tools
- Strong analytical capabilities, with the ability to transfer data into Excel and communicate effectively at all levels
- Understanding of Siemens and Fanuc controls, PLC programming, and fault-finding
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to problem-solve in a changing environment
