Role Overview

In the capacity of Chief Engineering Officer, you will be an integral part of the executive leadership team, tasked with formulating and supervising the technical strategy for all engineering endeavors, ensuring alignment with our corporate objectives. In this dynamic and intricate organization, your expertise in software design, architecture, development, testing, and deployment will be essential.

As a senior leader, you will not only contribute strategically to the business but also engage actively in the execution of all technical projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership by exploring innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Team Expansion: You will be expected to possess a proven track record in rapidly scaling and managing engineering teams.
  2. Hands-On Leadership: Demonstrate your capability to write functional and maintainable code, and effectively communicate software development methodologies to deliver new solutions, while also designing robust architectures utilizing Microservices.
  3. Collaborative Development: As part of the executive team, you and your technology leaders will be expected to continuously refine our technology strategy to enhance our product offerings.
  4. Organizational Skills: Exhibit the ability to self-manage, collaborate, and coordinate efforts with colleagues across various responsibilities, locations, and time zones.
  5. Strategic Management: Oversee the technological aspects of the business and client strategies—consulting, developing project plans, managing implementations, serving as a liaison across teams, and driving execution and support.
  6. Proactive Approach: Identify problems or opportunities, take ownership, and initiate action.

Candidate Profile

  • At least 8 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably with a background in software engineering focusing on C#/.NET, managing teams of at least 30 engineers.
  • Experience in the FinTech sector is essential, with a preference for backgrounds in Exchange, Brokerage, or Trading.
  • Thorough understanding of Microservice architecture.
  • Experience in designing high-performance, high-concurrency, highly available, and scalable systems, with the ability to independently complete related designs.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities in both larger corporations and start-up/scale-up environments.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail and strong strategic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Adept at thriving in a fast-paced start-up atmosphere.
  • A degree in a relevant field is preferred.
