Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and committed Bank Therapy Specialist, possessing substantial expertise in providing therapeutic services within both hospital and community environments. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in evaluating and managing patients across various specialties, including orthopaedics, post-surgical care, and palliative support.

Key Responsibilities

What will be expected of me in this role?

  • To contribute to the advancement of the therapy service, ensuring adherence to best practices while optimizing efficiency and resource management.
  • To take full responsibility for the organization and management of a complex and specialized patient caseload, prioritizing clinical needs and effective time utilization.
  • To apply clinical judgment and analytical skills, utilizing evidence-based practices to assess, diagnose, and implement suitable treatment plans as an independent practitioner.
  • To employ effective communication and behavior modification techniques to promote long-term self-management strategies for patients with acute or chronic conditions.
  • To continuously evaluate and adjust treatment goals and outcomes in collaboration with patients, caregivers, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • To provide informed recommendations to colleagues and team members based on advanced theoretical and practical insights regarding patient management.
  • To actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to discussions and decisions related to patient care and discharge planning.

Candidate Profile

Am I the right fit for this role?

  • BSc (Hons) degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) for Occupational Therapy.
  • Demonstrated additional specialist knowledge through relevant postgraduate training.
  • Experience working with patients in both inpatient and outpatient/community settings.
  • Experience across various inpatient specialties, including orthopaedic and medical care.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
