Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Manager to join our team at Mace. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for driving design-related project outcomes and providing technical expertise in design management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the design team through the scheme and production design stages, and work closely with the delivery team to ensure successful project implementation and handover.
  • Drive all design-related project outcomes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and applicable standards.
  • Provide role-specific technical expertise in design management and act as a focal point for all technical design-related matters on projects.
  • Work closely with the project commercial manager to produce project-specific designer agreements, ensuring the designer's scope of work and design responsibilities are clearly defined and understood.
  • Liaise with the project planner to produce, agree, and manage a realistic design program to satisfy procurement and construction requirements.
  • Represent the project team at client review meetings and develop a detailed design program with all relevant parties to satisfy design, procurement, and construction requirements.
  • Attend regular internal design meetings to review and markup new drawings, design team, and sub-contractors, and action comments generated at internal design meetings.
  • Assist construction managers in all design issues as and when required.
Requirements
  • Strong technical expertise in design management and a proven track record of delivering design-related project outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Proficiency in design management software and tools.
