Hours: Full time (37.5hrs pw)

Salary: From £61,000 (Dependant on Experience) + Excellent Benefits

Job Summary:

We're seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to join our Property team. As a key member of our in-house legal department, you'll play a vital role in advising on a wide range of property and development matters across the Market Unit. You'll work closely with our Head of Legal (Property) and other team members to provide expert guidance on acquisitions, disposals, construction contracting, property management and leasehold portfolio, and corporate acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of the construction contracting process for a range of construction projects, including inputting into and reviewing construction contracts.
  • Provide legal advice on property management issues arising from the Bupa property portfolio, including freehold and leasehold properties.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of offers, review of confidentiality agreements, and general advice on the acquisitions process.
  • Work closely with external lawyers and coordinate responses on legal issues from the teams involved within the business.

Requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer with experience of English commercial property law.
  • Desirable experience in either healthcare or insurance.
  • Excellent commercial awareness, drafting and negotiation skills, and change management skills.
  • Ability to act with good judgment and discretion, including handling of sensitive matters appropriately.
