About the Role

Nominet is in search of a seasoned Portfolio and Program Manager. This position encompasses three essential core responsibilities:

  • It will be instrumental in the strategic advancement, prioritization, and crucially, the execution and deployment of a portfolio of business transformation and technical delivery initiatives.
  • It will undertake a vital hands-on role in managing multiple intricate concurrent projects/work streams within Nominet's technology division and across the broader organization, collaborating with clients and various departments to ensure successful project delivery within budget and timelines.
  • Lastly, it will necessitate direct management of the project delivery team within the portfolio, including direct lines to project and portfolio managers, as well as dotted line management of product managers, technical team leaders, and squad scrum masters that require coordination to achieve outcomes at multiple portfolio levels.

About You and Your Experience

  • Likely to possess PRINCE2 or PMI and Agile training and/or have expert knowledge of the project management lifecycle processes in both waterfall and agile methodologies, as well as their integration for portfolio delivery.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex and technical information effectively in both written and spoken forms, tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with change management principles, either APMG or PROSCI.
  • Capable of managing a varied workload and prioritizing tasks to meet business deadlines while guiding executives and stakeholders through critical trade-off decisions.
  • Able to challenge stakeholders and suppliers on business, strategic, and technical matters while maintaining professionalism and fostering excellent relationships.
  • Experience collaborating closely with business leaders to document and develop portfolio and business strategies.
  • Strong team collaboration experience and leadership in resolving issues across multiple matrixed functions and teams.
  • Proficient in producing clear and well-structured documentation.
  • Ability to clarify ambiguous situations and build consensus for resolution with the business stakeholder group.
  • Capable of utilizing data to drive efficiencies and comprehend and interpret risks.
  • Ability to proactively and strategically anticipate problems and risks to form working teams and responses to obstacles that frequently impact business success.
  • Excellent understanding of financial budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • High levels of tenacity and negotiation skills in securing support, resources, and commitment to the agreed direction and delivery.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and balance various strands of work with differing priorities.
  • Stakeholder management experience, including with external partners.
  • Experience in managing technical projects is highly desirable.
