Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Youth Substance Abuse Specialist to join our team at Red Sector Recruitment Limited. As a Young Peoples Drug and Alcohol Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people and their families affected by substance abuse.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry a case load of young people and young adults (up to 25) and provide specialist assessment, care planning, and interventions around alcohol and other drugs.
  • Support the involvement of the young person's voice in the service and build their resilience and coping skills.
  • Contribute to reducing the negative impacts of drugs and alcohol on children and young people's educational achievement, longer-term employment prospects, and overall health and wellbeing.
  • Deliver evidence-based psychosocial and educational interventions, taking a whole family approach, and provide support to young people as a result of familial substance use.
  • Gather and complete mandatory data collection to report to National Drug Treatment Monitoring Service.
  • Work closely with targeted youth support teams and other partners to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Engage with young people and their families in various settings, including children and family centres, drop-ins, schools, colleges, and local community venues.
  • Be proactive with service user engagement, providing opportunities for young people to make decisions, have a say, and influence/shape their care and service delivery.
