Clinical Operations Coordinator

Chester, Cheshire, United Kingdom Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

Clinical Operations Coordinator - Part-time Position: 30 hours per week

We are pleased to announce openings for Clinical Operations Coordinators within our healthcare facilities. Our organization is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and operational excellence.

In collaboration with various members of the operational and nursing teams, this role will oversee effective site management, including the leadership of the coordination center team and discharge lounge personnel, as well as the management of bed utilization across the organization.

The position entails the operational oversight of all site-related matters while facilitating patient flow throughout clinical departments. The primary goal is to ensure that patients are admitted promptly, receive appropriate treatment in suitable settings, and are directed to alternative service providers in line with established care pathways and protocols.

Additionally, this role will provide support to ward staff during off-peak hours, ensuring the efficient and safe use of resources to deliver high-quality patient care. Working independently, yet in close communication with operational and off-site managers, the post holder will ensure timely resolution and communication of all site-related issues, maintaining service continuity.

The position requires coverage around the clock, typically involving 12-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities

You will maintain comprehensive real-time visibility of all beds within the facility. This visibility will equip you with an accurate understanding of the status of each bed (occupied, available, dirty, and clean), as well as pending and confirmed discharges and the progress of each patient towards their discharge goals. With this critical information, you will be responsible for the precise placement of every patient awaiting an inpatient bed.

Successful candidates will also collaborate with clinical teams and engage closely with key stakeholders to facilitate the flow of patients from admission to discharge.
