The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced expert to join the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Expert Advisory Group (PRASEAG). As a key member of this group, you will provide clinical and scientific expertise to inform the regulation of medical devices used in Plastic Surgery.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing expert advice on the regulation of medical devices used in Plastic Surgery
- Contributing to the development of policies and guidelines related to medical devices
- Assessing the risks and benefits of medical devices used in Plastic Surgery
- Representing the views of the wider Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) and providing feedback to its members
- Staying up-to-date with the latest developments in medical devices and Plastic Surgery
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Be an active member of the JCCP Council
- Be a registered Healthcare Professional (HCP)
- Have experience in a senior role with responsibility for making decisions related to patient safety
- Be knowledgeable in the proposed licensing scheme for non-surgical cosmetic devices
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be able to operate effectively on an expert scientific committee
- Be able to assimilate and interpret complex scientific information and formulate evidence-based comments/advice at short notice
- Be able to maintain strict confidentiality with respect to the work of the EAG
- Be committed to the values of selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, professionalism, impartiality, and consistency

- Ability to network more widely
