Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced AV Technical Designer to join our team. As an AV Technical Designer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality CAD drawings, schematics, and plans for commercial AV installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing System Flow Schematics, AV Positional Layout Drawings, and Rack Layout Drawings on a weekly basis.
  • Creating full installation AV Schematics and 'As-Builts' to ensure accurate and efficient installation.
  • Designing bespoke metal work for custom installations.
  • Assisting in the production of Cable and Components listings, including cable schedules.
  • Creating Specialist Drawings as required for custom production work.
  • Tracking changes and developments in drawings and plans, updating AV schematics accordingly.
  • Uploading drawings to our internal system for all users.
  • Participating in BTO (Building Technology Operations) to track changes and update the drawing register within agreed timescales.
  • Supporting on drawings for tender specifications and raising RFI's (Requests for Information).
  • Occasional site attendance may be required to provide customer-facing support.
  • Awareness of new products and actively suggesting improvements on specified equipment and design.
  • Providing ad-hoc support for on-site customer-facing pre-sales meetings, engineer and programming support, new product research, and basic training on drawings for all staff.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of AV systems and installations.
  • Excellent drawing and design skills, with experience in CAD software.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently, with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
