Consultant Psychiatrist for Older Adults

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work as part of the Central Lancashire Rapid Intervention and Treatment Team (RITT) and Memory Assessment Services (MAS) team, providing clinical leadership and expertise in older adult psychiatry.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe Consultant Psychiatrist will be responsible for:
- Providing clinical leadership to the RITT and MAS teams
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care
- Developing and implementing treatment plans for patients with complex mental health needs
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care pathways
- Participating in education and training activities to support the development of junior staff
This is a substantive, full-time (10PA) post based at Charnley Fold, Bamber Bridge, Preston. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a talented and dedicated team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, applicants must:
- Hold full GMC registration and be included on the Specialist Register of the GMC or be eligible for entry within 6 months
- Have Section 12 Approved status or be eligible to obtain it within 3 months
- Have Approved Clinician Status or be eligible to obtain it within 6 months
- Have knowledge, skills, and experience appropriate to this role
