Support Specialist for Students with Autism

Position Overview: We are looking for a committed and empathetic Support Specialist for Students with Autism to become a part of our dedicated team. In this role, you will be instrumental in assisting students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to achieve their maximum potential within an educational framework. You will collaborate closely with educators and other specialists to execute personalized learning strategies and offer customized assistance to students with ASD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized support to students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in classroom settings and various learning environments.
- Help implement behavioral intervention strategies tailored for students with Autism.
- Assist students in enhancing their social skills, communication abilities, and independent living competencies.
- Modify educational materials and activities to cater to the unique needs of students with ASD.
- Work in partnership with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to foster a supportive and inclusive educational atmosphere.
- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback to educators and parents/guardians.
- Supervise students during lunch breaks and other non-academic activities.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with individuals on the autism spectrum (ASD).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a sincere passion for supporting students with special needs.
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

All compensation rates mentioned will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in the future.
