XPO Logistics is seeking a skilled Warehouse Operative to join our team in Leigh, working Monday to Friday PM shift in a full-time permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all relevant warehouse processes, from receipt to despatch, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Actively promote and work within specified standards of depot health and safety, maintaining a safe working environment.

What You'll Do on a Typical Day:

  • Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Perform tasks related to Goods in/Order picking/Goods out, as directed by management.
  • Carry out all work with attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring quality of work.
  • Identify and address errors, following established procedures.
  • Contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Complete tasks within specified timeframes, maintaining productivity.
  • Work safely, having regard to Health, Safety, and Hygiene standards, as well as the safety of colleagues.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as directed, following safety guidelines.
  • Work within XPO's processes and values, adhering to company standards.
  • Support achievement of customer targets and standards, understanding customer values and requirements.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels, using own initiative and adopting a positive approach.
  • Treat colleagues with respect, demonstrating personal integrity and flexibility.

Requirements:

  • Numeracy and literacy skills to complete work documentation.
  • A current FLT licence is required for this role.
  • Ability to work speedily and accurately, with experience of working in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience of working as part of a team, with understanding of health and safety issues relating to warehouse environments.
  • Experience of working to performance targets, using scanners and other I.T devices.
  • Previous experience of working on a shift arrangement, with ability to work flexibly due to overtime requirements.
