About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Swanton Care & Community Ltd. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children with complex medical needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support to children with complex medical needs, including intimate personal care, clinical tasks, and general support.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans to promote the independence and well-being of children in our care.
  • Work collaboratively with the Registered Manager and other members of the team to ensure the highest standard of care is provided at all times.
  • Participate in play and stimulation activities to promote the physical, emotional, and social development of children in our care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children's care and progress.
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and other professionals to ensure seamless care and support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the highest standard of care is maintained.

Requirements

  • Qualified to NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • NVQ Level 3 diploma or relevant qualification or willingness to complete relevant qualification within time frame.
  • Good standard of general education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Safeguarding qualification.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting children in a children's home.
  • Effective communicator both verbally and written.
  • Knowledge/experience of children who have complex needs relevant to service.
  • Displays initiative and approach-ability.
  • Displays sensitivity and awareness to multicultural issues.
  • Have knowledge of current legislation.
  • Ability to coordinate a shift and prioritize care needs.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage unexpected situations.
