We are currently looking for a skilled Advanced Teaching Support Assistant to provide dedicated support to a year 11 student with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the SEND and teaching teams to implement the strategies outlined in the student's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). This role presents a unique opportunity to deliver tailored support within a close-knit educational community.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in assisting learners with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and preferably a background in working with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and anxiety-related challenges.
  • The ability to establish a positive rapport with the student and adapt to their individual learning styles and support requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills to plan, prepare, and resource effective one-on-one support.
  • Excellent communication abilities to work collaboratively with the student, their family, and teaching staff.

In addition to fulfilling the specific needs outlined in the EHCP, the successful applicant will undertake the general responsibilities associated with the role of an Advanced Teaching Support Assistant. This includes regular one-on-one teaching, contributing to progress reports, collaborating with class teachers, and providing cover for lessons as needed.

As a valued member of our educational community, you will engage with and support all students, not solely those in your direct care, and participate in the collaborative governance of the school through regular meetings.
