Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to provide support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at our school. As a SEND Support Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure that pupils receive the best possible education and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with SEND in accessing their education and achieving their personal targets
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Provide emotional and social support to pupils with SEND, promoting their well-being and inclusion
- Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons and activities, adapting materials to meet the needs of pupils with SEND
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers, keeping them informed of their child's progress and involving them in decision-making
Requirements:
- Previous experience of working with pupils with SEND, preferably in a primary school setting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
- Initiative and flexibility, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proven ability to manage set tasks and use initiative, with a commitment to continuous professional development
- Knowledge of the primary national curriculum and the ability to adapt teaching materials to meet the needs of pupils with SEND
