Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Graphics Engineer to join our team at Samsung Research UK in Staines-upon-Thames. As a key member of our AI team, you will be responsible for developing cutting-edge graphics and rendering algorithms for various technologies, including AR and MR.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement state-of-the-art graphics and rendering algorithms for frameworks on desktop and mobile devices, including AR and MR.
  • Research and propose innovative solutions to overcome technical challenges and enhance user experience, leveraging both traditional and machine learning approaches.
  • Develop new solutions for the next wave of outstanding products and services, aligning with Samsung's vision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field (equivalent industry experience may be accepted).
  • Expertise in Computer Graphics using APIs such as OpenGL, OpenGL ES, Vulkan, or DirectX.
  • Strong 3D math and linear algebra skills.
  • Mastery of mesh manipulation algorithms, including Constructive Solid Geometry.
  • Knowledge of advanced rendering techniques, including Global Illumination, Physically Based Rendering (PBS/PBR), Soft Shadows, Image-based Lighting, and High Dynamic Range (HDR) rendering.
  • Proficiency in Shading languages like GLSL, HLSL, CG, and experience with C++, Python, C#, and Java.
  • Experience with testing and debugging tools, performance profiling, and software development.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a result-oriented attitude and proficiency in problem-solving.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of machine learning libraries like TensorFlow, Caffe, and PyTorch.
  • Experience developing and prototyping with Unity or Unreal render engine.
  • Experience with Android application development and Augmented Reality frameworks like AR-Core and AR-Kit.
  • Proficiency in modeling tools like Blender, Maya, and 3D Max, as well as animation techniques like skeletal animation, Blend-shapes, and Inverse Kinematics.

Contract Details

  • 6-month contract (inside IR35).
  • Hybrid working model: 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home weekly.
