Position Summary

The Samsung Research UK team is seeking a skilled Graphics Engineer to contribute to the development of cutting-edge graphics and rendering algorithms for various technologies. As a key member of our team, you will work on designing and implementing innovative solutions for outstanding products, collaborating closely with colleagues to achieve exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement state-of-the-art graphics and rendering algorithms for frameworks on desktop and mobile devices, including AR and MR.
  • Research and propose new technology ideas and proof-of-concept implementations of innovative ways to overcome technical challenges and enhance user experience.
  • Create new solutions for the next wave of outstanding products and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Expertise in Computer Graphics using APIs such as OpenGL, OpenGL ES, Vulkan, or DirectX.
  • Strong 3D math and linear algebra skills.
  • Mastery of mesh manipulation algorithms, including Constructive Solid Geometry.
  • Knowledge of advanced rendering techniques, such as Global Illumination, Physically Based Rendering (PBS/PBR), Soft Shadows, Image-based Lighting, and High Dynamic Range (HDR) rendering.
  • Experience with Shading languages like GLSL, HLSL, CG, and others.
  • Proficiency in Software Development, primarily using C++, Python, C#, and Java.
  • Experience with Testing and Debugging tools and Performance profiling.
  • Ability to document software designs and clearly present complex algorithms and technical details.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a result-oriented attitude and proficiency in problem-solving.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of Machine Learning libraries like TensorFlow, Caffe, and PyTorch.
  • Experience developing and prototyping with Unity or Unreal render engine.
  • Experience with Android application development.
  • Experience with Augmented Reality frameworks like AR-Core and AR-Kit.
  • Experience with modeling tools like Blender, Maya, and 3D Max.
  • Experience with Animation techniques like skeletal animation, Blend-shapes, and Inverse Kinematics.

Contract Type: 6-month contract (inside IR35)

Location: Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey, UK

Hybrid Policy: 3 days a week onsite and 2 days working from home if preferred
