We are seeking a seasoned Planning Consultant at the Principal/Associate level to enhance our dynamic team of Planning and Environmental Consultants across the North of England. Our team, comprising around 600 professionals, operates from various locations throughout the UK.

As a leading consultancy in planning and environmental assessment, we influence government policies and provide expert advice to a range of stakeholders, including local authorities and major landowners. Our integration with transport, energy, engineering, and design sectors allows us to support significant UK projects, including water management, rail infrastructure, and housing developments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and submit a variety of planning applications, including those under the TCPA, Development Consent Orders, and Transport Works Act Orders.
  • Develop and execute planning strategies to facilitate project delivery, ensuring high-quality advice and presentations based on thorough analysis.
  • Conduct evidence-based studies and site evaluations to support policy formulation and planning consents.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate comprehensive reports to navigate the planning submission process effectively.
  • Build and maintain client relationships while collaborating with colleagues to secure new projects through tenders and bids.
Qualifications:
  • A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town and Country Planning (RTPI accredited) with Chartered membership of RTPI.
  • Relevant experience in consultancy or local authority planning.
  • In-depth knowledge of planning legislation and procedures, along with strong commercial acumen.
  • Proven track record in managing multi-disciplinary projects and collaborating with technical specialists.
  • Ability to foster relationships with stakeholders and present complex information clearly to non-specialists.
