About the Role:

SLR Consulting is seeking a highly experienced and established Transport Planning Consultant to join our UK Transport Planning team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for generating business from existing and new client bases, leading on projects, and providing support and development to junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert transport planning advice to clients to fulfill their land use development objectives.
  • Manage and deliver complex development projects, ranging from feasibility studies, promotion of development, including through the local plan process, supporting planning applications and negotiation to successful resolution, dealing with appeals and public inquiry as necessary.
  • Develop and manage client relationships to secure and deliver project work.
  • Negotiate fee proposals and manage the financial aspect of projects.
  • Mentor and support the career development of colleagues within your team.
  • Maintain your continued professional development on technical, policy, and legal matters related to planning and transport.
  • Seek to add value to all projects to deliver an exceptional service to our clients.

Requirements:

  • High level of understanding of the planning, policy, and legal frameworks to secure client development objectives.
  • Strong client contacts and a track record of winning project work.
  • Understanding of financial management at the project level and wider level.
