About the Role

The Chef de Rang role is a key position within the Georgian restaurant, reporting directly to the Supervisor and Assistant Manager. As a member of the restaurant team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the restaurant, maintaining high standards of quality, service, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Supervisors and Restaurant Management team to train and develop the waiting team, drive sales, and service excellence.
  • Set up and clear tables prior to, during, and after service, ensuring the highest standards are maintained.
  • Ensure your station and the restaurant run smoothly, maintaining Harrods' high standards of quality, service, and maximizing productivity.
  • Convey the Georgian story to customers throughout the dining experience.
  • Ensure opening and closing checklists are adhered to, revising and updating them with the Supervisors to ensure they are relevant and standards are always at the highest level.
  • Have good attention to detail, evident through floor mis-en-place, checklists, and sufficient stock levels.
About You

You are an excellent communicator and motivator, able to work efficiently and effectively with minimum supervision. You have experience in greeting customers, following cash handling procedures, and working in a senior waiter or waitress position.

Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational skills, customer service focused, and able to work at pace while remaining calm and self-assured.
  • Great storytelling abilities, capable of bringing the brand's story and magic to life for customers throughout the dining experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the restaurant menu and allergens, as well as a good knowledge of any specials promotions.
  • Able to answer guest queries quickly, knowledgeably, and in a discreet manner in line with the highest standards.
