Apprentice Transmission Engineer

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and flexible individual to join our Transmission business as a Trainee Engineer. As a Trainee Engineer, you will have the opportunity to study towards a HNC and Diploma in Higher Education in Energy Engineering, while gaining valuable work experience in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Balance academic study with work-based experience in our Transmission business
- Work on placements within Transmission, including on-site and field work, and alongside experienced SSE engineers and craftspeople
- Develop skills and knowledge in Low Voltage Switching and High Voltage Switching
- Contribute to the daily operation, repair, and future design of the network
- Manage jobs, including technical aspects, safety management, and supervision of craftspeople
Requirements
- Flexible approach to work
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- 1 Scottish Higher at grade C or above in Maths or Physics, or equivalent qualification
