The role of a Children's Services Manager at Barnardo's is vital for the effective implementation of our programs. This position requires a deep commitment to enhancing the lives of children, young individuals, and their families.

We are currently seeking a temporary Children's Services Manager to oversee our Young Carers Services. In this capacity, you will guide a dedicated team that supports Young Carers aged 8 to 18. The children we assist carry caregiving responsibilities at home, and our services are tailored to their specific needs and preferences. Our primary goal is to facilitate opportunities for them to connect with peers and engage in age-appropriate activities. Additionally, a significant aspect of this role involves advocating for greater awareness of Young Carers' needs and influencing relevant policies and practices.

As a manager, your daily responsibilities will vary widely. This position may involve interactions with children and young people, stakeholders, educational staff, and community leaders, while also providing support to your team to ensure that each child receives a creative and responsive service tailored to their individual requirements.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria by the application deadline:

Possess a professional qualification in Social Work recognized by the NISCC Have completed the AYE and be registered with the NISCC on part 1 of the register.

Candidates should demonstrate the following in their application:

Proven experience in delivering services to children and young people within social care, youth work, or educational environments Proven experience in managing staff who work with children and young people in social care, youth work, or educational settings A solid track record of collaborating with partner organizations, commissioners, and other stakeholders A valid driving license and access to a vehicle with business class insurance, or demonstrate how mobility requirements will be met. Proven experience in financial management and budgeting Experience in handling child protection and safeguarding issues

Location: Office base with the flexibility to work from various Barnardo's locations as needed.

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Fixed term
