The role of a Children's Services Manager at Barnardo's is vital for the effective provision of our programs. Our managers are dedicated to advocating for and empowering children, young individuals, and their families.
We are currently seeking a temporary Children's Services Manager to oversee our Young Carers Services. In this position, you will guide a team of dedicated professionals who support Young Carers aged 8 to 18. The children we assist often have caregiving responsibilities at home, and our services are tailored to meet their unique needs and preferences. Our objective is to facilitate opportunities for them to connect with peers and engage in age-appropriate activities. Additionally, a significant aspect of this role involves advocating for greater awareness of Young Carers' needs and influencing relevant policies and practices.
As a manager, your daily responsibilities will vary widely. You will engage with children and young people, collaborate with commissioners, interact with policymakers, and work alongside educational staff, all while supporting your team to ensure that each child receives a tailored and innovative service.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria by the application closing date:
Possess a professional qualification in Social Work recognized by the NISCC Have completed the AYE and be registered with the NISCC on part 1 of the register.Applicants should demonstrate the following in their application:
Proven experience in delivering services to children and young people within social care, youth work, or educational environments Proven experience in managing staff who work with children and young people in social care, youth work, or educational settings A strong record of collaboration with partner organizations, commissioners, and other stakeholders A valid driving license and access to a vehicle with business class insurance, or the ability to demonstrate how mobility requirements will be met. Experience in managing financial resources and budgets Experience in handling child protection and safeguarding issuesPlease ensure that your application clearly outlines how you meet the required criteria listed in the accompanying Additional Information sheet.
Location: Office base in Magherafelt, with the possibility of working from other Barnardo's locations as needed.
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Fixed term until July 2025
Salary: £42,016 - £53,176 FTE
