Barnardo's Children's Services Manager Job Opportunity

Barnardo's is seeking two dynamic and experienced Children's Services Managers to lead our Birmingham Forward Steps Service (BFS) in the Ladywood and Edgbaston Localities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate delivery across the designated Locality (BFS/Family Hub services)
  • Responsible for overall performance of the locality in line with contract KPI's
  • Maintain and develop all external partnerships in locality including early help services, health, early years services, voluntary & community sector, and parents/carers
Requirements:
  • A professional qualification in a relevant field
  • Significant experience of leadership and management for the delivery of integrated services by a multi-disciplinary and multi-functional team
  • Significant experience of staff management / leadership of large multiagency teams
  • Experience of financial planning and budget management to the value of at least £1 million pounds per annum
  • Significant experience of managing change and delivery of services to a range of stakeholders, including co-production with parents
  • Significant experience of the management of complex professional and stakeholder relationships
  • Experience of leading the development of innovative new services for children and their families within a diverse community context
  • Extensive experience of monitoring and measuring services and achieving improved outcomes for children and families
Desirable Skills:
  • Excellent knowledge of child development, and theoretical practice frameworks
  • Substantial knowledge of current legislation and procedures relating to the Children's Act, SEND Code of Practice
  • Substantial knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection
  • Skills in using management information systems and computer-based systems

This role requires flexibility and adaptability, particularly in relation to working hours and location. Travel independently across the localities is expected.
