Senior Culinary Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to join our team at Barchester Healthcare. As a Second Chef, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality culinary services to our residents and patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.
- Assist the Head Chef in menu development, working closely with the culinary team to create innovative and nutritious dishes that meet the dietary needs of our residents and patients.
- Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes cooked to the highest standards, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment for our residents and patients.
- Manage stock control, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
- Complete regular audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
Requirements
- A personable and warm approach, with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents and patients.
- Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent culinary qualifications.
- A good understanding of nutrition and the ability to create appetizing and nutritious menus.
- Experience of working with fresh seasonal food and creating a warm and welcoming environment in a kitchen setting.
- Confidence engaging with residents and patients to create menus that meet their dietary needs and preferences.
- Good understanding of HACCP and food safety regulations.
