Job Title: Principal / Associate Geotechnical Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Principal/Associate Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle upon Tyne, Sheffield, Edinburgh or Glasgow office. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in geotechnical engineering and project management, with a strong academic background and Chartered status.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and project management of geotechnical projects in highways, rail, and water sectors.
  • Leadership and mentoring of junior staff.
  • Application of CDM Regulations in design and ground investigation environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, technical, and communication skills.
  • Report writing and self-checking.
  • Travel and valid UK driving license.

Requirements:

  • Proven design experience in highways, rail, or water geotechnics.
  • Strong academic background with a relevant degree (ideally MSc or equivalent) and Chartered status.
  • Proven experience in a senior role in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
  • Project management experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets.
  • Excellent interpersonal, technical, and communication skills.
