Role Overview
As a Lead Engineer in Civil, Structural, and Architectural disciplines, you will play a pivotal role in managing projects throughout their entire lifecycle. This unique opportunity allows you to engage in various stages of project development, from initial concept design to detailed engineering, construction oversight, and eventual decommissioning. Your involvement will be crucial in ensuring the success of our projects, which are particularly rewarding within a consultancy framework.
Key Responsibilities
In your daily activities, you will take on a leadership position within a dynamic design team, focusing on the design of reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures for various projects, including nuclear decommissioning and new builds. Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering comprehensive design work, inspections, and site support for a diverse range of public and private sector clients.
- Conducting feasibility studies and concept designs for multidisciplinary projects.
- Utilizing engineering software such as Tekla and Robot for analysis and design, alongside hand calculations.
- Preparing essential documentation, including calculations, material specifications, and technical reports.
- Collaborating with Technicians to develop Revit models.
- Working within integrated teams to successfully deliver high-profile projects.
- Maintaining a strong focus on safety in all aspects of work.
- Managing project delivery and mentoring junior CS&A Engineers.
This position offers a full-time schedule of 37 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements available, allowing for a blend of office and remote work.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Extensive experience in designing structures using reinforced concrete and steel.
- Previous experience in the nuclear sector and knowledge of seismic design is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with current design codes and standards.
- A solid understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Educational Background
Applicants should have:
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng or MEng).
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with membership in ICE or IStructE, or be working towards it.
Security Clearance Requirements
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
