The Role
As a Senior Civil, Structural and Architectural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a dynamic design team in the development of traditional, bespoke and innovative designs of reinforced concrete, steel and masonry structures for defence, nuclear decommissioning and nuclear new build projects. You will work closely with our clients to understand their needs and deliver high-quality solutions that meet their requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver nuclear design work, inspections and construction site support on projects for a range of public and private sector clients within the UK and overseas.
  • Concept and feasibility studies for multi-discipline design projects.
  • Analysis and design using engineering software such as Tekla and Robot, as well as producing hand calculations.
  • Prepare calculations, CDM activities, basis of design, material specifications, scopes of work, technical reports, inter-discipline design coordination and supervision.
  • Liaise with technicians in the preparation of Revit models.
  • Work with integrated multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-profile projects.
  • Ensure all work is carried out with a positive attitude towards safety, both in design and in the office environment.
  • Be responsible for the management of project delivery, and mentor and provide technical support to CS&A Engineers.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements, including two days in the office/onsite and three days working from home. Agile working may be available to employees in some instances, applying the principles of fairness and consistency whilst ensuring that the overriding business needs can be appropriately met.

Essential Experience
Highly experienced in the design of structures in reinforced concrete and steelwork. Previous experience within the nuclear industry and design for seismic loading would be advantageous but not necessary. Awareness and experience of using the latest design codes and standards, as well as understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
Degree qualified (BEng or MEng), Civil/Structural Engineer. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer with membership of ICE or IstructE, or working towards.

Security Clearance
