Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior or Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join our ground engineering and tunnels team in East Croydon. The successful candidate will have strong technical and management credentials, with a proven track record of leading projects in railway geotechnics.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, with a relevant degree and ideally an MSc in a relevant subject. They will have proven experience in geotechnical analysis and design, with a focus on railway geotechnics. Additionally, they will have project management experience, including commercial experience, and be able to lead bids and grow existing and new commissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead geotechnical projects with minimal supervision
  • Lead bids and grow existing and new commissions
  • Work in a Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) function on rail projects
  • Collaborate with colleagues across London and Epsom offices
Requirements
  • Strong academic background with a relevant degree and ideally an MSc in a relevant subject
  • Proven geotechnical analysis and design experience, with a focus on railway geotechnics
  • Project management experience, including commercial experience
  • Project leader skills and CRE experience with interface with contractor clients and site experience
  • Desire to drive digital innovation and further AtkinsRéalis' capability in advanced geotechnical analysis and design
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work
  • Willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas
  • Valid UK driving licence
