Job Title: Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer RailJob Summary:

We are seeking experienced Senior, Principal, and Chief Geotechnical Engineers to join our Ground Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading complex geotechnical projects, working in a technical review function, and supporting colleagues in advancing their understanding of advanced geotechnical principles and offshore geotechnics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead offshore design, including offshore foundation design, driveability, cable burial trench ability, and deep-water anchoring.
  • Develop and implement advanced constitutive soil models, parameter selection, soil-structure interaction, and numerical modelling software (FLAC, PLAXIS 2D/3D, etc.).
  • Validate geotechnical numerical analysis and numerical model calibration.
  • Manage the process of geotechnical numerical analysis within an interdisciplinary project environment.
  • Drive digital innovation and further AtkinsRéalis' capability in offshore geotechnics and advanced geotechnical analysis.
Requirements:
  • Strong academic background with a relevant degree and ideally an MSc or PhD in a relevant subject.
  • Proven geotechnical analysis and design experience, with experience in the Offshore sector.
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
  • A willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
